Vintage Los Castillo Mexico Articulated Abalone & Brass Fish Bottle Opener.

Mexican abalone shell and brass bottle opener in the form of fish Brass mouth.

Articulated skeleton and it can stand on its tail. 

Fish mouth is made of brass which has a very nice aged patina.

Fish is missing about 7 small shell pieces. See pictures.

Stamped on the tail "Los Castillo Taxco" Mexico, Los Castillo workshop was founded in Taxco in 1939 by the Castillo brothers (Antonio, Coco, and Chato), along with Antonio's wife Margot van Voorhies Carr, and their cousin Salvador Teran. Los Castillo is the longest enduring workshop in Taxco, and is still in business today with a reputation for the best in both design and craftsmanship. 

Articulated fish measures; 13" long, head is 3" tall, 4" 1/4 tall at the tail x 2" thick (head).
